Every Wednesday

Every Wednesday I will post something about grief. Sometimes it will be a reflection on an aspect of grief’s landscape. Now and then I will share from my own journey of grief, because in the sharing of our stories we find strength and build a community of people that support one another.

Snow is Falling

Snow is falling.

It is falling quietly
from the invisible sky
into the stillness
of the brown woods
behind the house,
covering the trees and hills
in a shroud of white.

Grief is the stillness
of snow-clad forests.

Grief is the coyote
trotting alone
through the snowy woods.
She stops,
looks around,
continues into the darkness
that is swiftly falling

through the trees.
